Every day a child enter's foster care, without the essentials, or anything from home to connect with. Please donate to
your local Foster Care-DHS a new backpack with school supplies, a small suitcase or duffle bag with a new blanket/comforter,
a new toothbrush, crest for kids toothpaste, hair brush and comb. And if possible a new pillow and a stuffed animal like a
dog, cat, teddy bear that they can hold onto and know it is theirs. Foster kids also need clothes, if you can donate a new
outfit even for teens, shoes, socks, pants, shirts. Especially the older kids please donate as they seem to get left behind.
Remember Lilo in Lilo & Stitch she says to stitch, then later in the movie he says to her sister "Ohana". Ohana means
no one gets left behind or forgotten. Please let the kids in foster care know that they have not been forgotten and are loved,
appeciated as every child (and adult) needs reminding sometimes.
Thank you.
Every Quilt has a story. Whether it is about the person, or when it arrives, there is a story. And as everyone
soon knows, a quilt arrives at just the right time. To honor, to comfort, to help heal. So too do the following quilts have
a story. Enjoy.
In November 2006 i joined ladies of the Mormon Church, Albany 2nd Ward, to help make quilts for the local ABC House,
which helps kids who have been abused, neglected then placed in foster care. This one did not get done in time to go with
the others. However, i learned that a little girl named Emma (her granma is adopting her) needed a special blanket. So the
quilt went to Emma.
This My Lil Ponies quilt was the one given to the ABC House. well one exactly like it as i forgot to take a picture of
it. I hope the child that rec'd it loved it.

One day i learned that lil 2 yr old Emma was asking for a "blankie" for christmas. I said to my friend Kim, i have the
perfect quilt for her. A little princess quilt that i had been working on. Although Emma rec'd it after christmas she was
very happy to get the "princess" blankie and tote bag. All in all Emma got 3 special quilts. A child or person can never
have too many quilts, "special blankies". How many people out there still have "their" blanket when they were born?

I wonder why no one seems to want to give an expecting
mom a baby gift after she had her first? I mean it is a new baby. So lets start a new trend, and give an expectant mom a new
gift for baby and maybe something from Bed Bath & Beyond for the mom. I mean receiving blankets, burpy pads are always
needed besides diaper and i have a simple pattern to make your own special Burpy Pads. Directions on how to make the
baby burpy pads are below. Click on the picture under the words "how to make a baby burpy pad" and a large verson will open
so that you can read the direction and diagrams. Then at the bottom of this page is a link to pictures of the baby burpy pads
i made for a relative. Both mom and child loved them and stil love them.
One day in 2005 my friend Kiersten came over. I asked her when she was expected to deliver and she said December. Well
i ask her, did anyone give you a baby shower, baby gift yet? She told me "well this is not my first child?" I said so what
it is a new child. Anyway, i said here then let me be the first one to give you a baby gift for this baby. Then rebecca was
born. I then decided after meeting Rebecca that she deserved a larger blanket so i gave her the blanket with the Puppies,
Winnie the Pooh Blanket and the tote bag with a small pillow in it.

When i asked Sarah's mom if she had a quilt, her mom said no. I said, "Well we can't have that can we." And since she
loved princesses, i thought a Disney Princess Quilt would be perfect. I wish i had gotten it done in time for a Christmas
list, but alas it wasn't. The hand sewing does take more time. Anyway, Sarah's mom said she loved the quilt and the totebag.
